Selling your property ?

Well, it seems clear that the housing market too has slowed in recent months. Most experts and pundits agree that this trend is set to continue, with house price inflation projected to grow only by single figures over the coming year. This is a turnaround no doubt, where we saw figures of 30% growth in some parts of the country last year.

But if we look behind the daily reports of the impending economic slowdown of the housing market there are some interesting points to note. A recent survey found that new buyer enquiries actually rose in January 2003 compared to the previous year. At the same time there appears to be less commitment to buy, with firm offers harder to secure and a huge rise in the ratio of viewings to sales.
Certainly there are ways you can fight the malaise and ensure that your corner of the housing market remains buoyant. As my uncle used to say "We can't change the direction of the wind. But we can adjust our sails".

Selling your Uk Property?

If you want your property to sell quickly and at the right price, take time to make it look its best. At whatever level of the market, your house needs to be one of the quality properties that potential buyers are searching for - and achieving this needn't cost a fortune.
First impressions count - concentrate first on the front of the house; tidy the front garden, trim the hedge and paint the front door. This may sound obvious but it's surprising how many sellers overlook such details and what a great difference it makes.

Spending wisely on achieving the right impact can add pounds to the sale price and clinch a sale from the first viewer instead of the twenty-first. De-clutter and de-personalise, do finish off those small DIY jobs that you've put off for months - but don't waste money on starting major new projects - you probably won't get back what you spend.

Of course if all of this is too much of a headache for you, why not stay where you are, take advantage of the increased equity in your home and carry out some real home improvements that you can enjoy for yourself?

Re-mortgage Options

There are ways to make your property work for you. Re-mortgaging to release funds to plough back into your home being one option. Then you can sit back and look forward to the next property boom.
