Pegasus Opera II takes centre stage

Pegasus Software, one of the UK's leading providers of business and financial management solutions, today announced that it has enhanced its flagship Opera II suite with the launch of Enterprise and Small Business. These flexible and scalable solutions have been designed to effectively meet the very different functionality needs of today's small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

Pegasus recognised that the existing software market serving the SME customer base did not have a scalable solution that could effectively bridge the gap in technology requirements as an SME expands and the needs of its financial and business management solution change over time.

Gary Turner, managing director for Pegasus, explained: "Many of the traditional finance applications designed for small and medium sized organisations either simply cannot scale up as the needs of the business change or are prohibitively expensive and difficult or impossible to upgrade. With Opera II Enterprise and Small Business, SMEs now have a choice. They can select world-class technology that comprises the breadth of functionality their business needs at a cost they can afford. Crucially, however, they can have the confidence that as business grows and information requirements change, the architecture and rich functionality of Opera II can scale effectively and painlessly. Quite simply Opera II Enterprise and Small Business grows with your business and negates the need for customers to look to other solution providers to meet their changing need. We believe that this is a unique and progressive approach to software provision."

Testament to its rich accounting and management information capabilities, Opera II is fast becoming the accounting and finance system of choice for SMEs in the UK and is already delivering quantifiable business benefits to over 10,000 users since its launch a little over two years ago. Indeed, customers include household names such as The Eden Project, Next Plc and The Daily Telegraph.

In addition to the comprehensive financial and business management functionality offered by Opera II, the upgrade path to Enterprise and Small Business is Wizard-based and has been incorporated into the existing upgrade module. This guarantees that existing Pegasus users and those using Sage Line 50 can readily and painlessly upgrade to Opera II and can therefore rapidly benefit from the functionality of the solution with minimal interruption to business continuity.

The Pegasus Certified Partner network, which provides the route to market for the Pegasus solution portfolio, is wholeheartedly supporting this enhancement to the Opera II suite. Andrew Burgess, managing director at jmc.it, commented: "As one of Pegasus' leading partners we are hugely encouraged by this development in the Opera II proposition. The functionality of Opera II clearly positions it as one of the most effective and powerful financial software solutions available to SMEs today. Opera II Enterprise and Small Business provide a unique opportunity to offer a totally new profile of customer the choice of having this leading-edge software. For the first time, we have the ability to offer users a choice of relevant functionality, total scalability, an easy, pain free upgrade path and significant cost efficiencies from the one solution. This is revolutionary and will deliver a real competitive advantage to today's SME."
